Playoffs NFL 2021 Buccaneers vs Packers The Packers let go of several opportunities against Tampa Bay
Tom Brady is in his tenth Super Bowl and first with Tampa Bay after winning at Lambeau Field on Sunday. A game that the Bucs seemed to be in control by going up 28-10 at the start of the third quarter, but that the Packers came back and had a chance to win, but They made too many mistakes at one point that tipped the balance for Brady and company.
Tampa Bay won despite their bad game plan. They continue to run by decree without much success, putting themselves in unfavorable situations. The best thing that can happen to a team in third is to have already achieved the first and ten, since in first and second the defense has to be attentive to both the run and the pass, and thus avoid being against the specialist packages in pressure and coverage.
The Bucs did the opposite: In their first three drives of the first half, they had 9 plays on first down and ran on 6, gaining 3, 1, 3, 4, 0 and 1 yard. Neither was a successful play (they will need to have gained 50% of the yards to advance). Brady rescued them by converting the first five and 7 of 9 in the first half despite having to convert third and 4, 9, 7, 1, 13, 9 and 3 because the Packers just couldn’t push him (1 sack) or cover (Sullivan and King were burned over and over again). Worthy of Brady, but his defensethe packers didn’t do the job despite being in favorable situations, but the scheme and execution failed.

With 2 minutes to go in the first half, the Packers lose just 14-10. They had the ball at their 13-yard line, but after a pass with Allen Lazard with just over a minute to play, they reached 40 off his field after a 23-yard gain. They had options to cut back before the break, but did not burn one of their two remaining timeouts and they let go half a minute. Jason Pierre-Paul captured Rodgers and on the next play, Sean Murphy-Bunting intercepted the ball in midfield. Times out that were left unused and could have led to a better execution that cut the margin of four.
The situation was made worse by one of the worst defensive decisions of the year in the league, very similar to what cost Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams his job after losing to the Raiders.
There were 6 seconds left on the clock and Tampa had no timeouts. They were at Packers 39, so it was either a fast pass out or a Ave Mara. If they catch her in the center of the field, time will run out unless they catch the ball in the diagonals. The only thing you could not allow is that they will win your back and the defensive call, coupled with one more bad play from Kevin King, allowed the anotacin de Scotty Miller , in which several Packers defenders are seen doing absolutely nothing.

So instead of 14-10 or 14-13 at halftime, this was now 10-21. Match of two possessions. Change everything.
The Packers technically won the delivery differential, 3-2, but lost on post-delivery points. Tampa Bay forced two around the break, the interception of Rodgers before the break and an Aaron Jones fumble to start the third quarter. In both they got 7 points, helped by King and the defense. The Packers intercepted Brady three times, but they were all within his 35 yard line. In the first s they managed to go all the way to score TDs, but the other two finished after three plays thanks to sacks by Shaq Barrett on third down. Yes, the Packers missed Bakhtiari, but Barrett outplayed the other starting tackle, Billy Turner, who had already conceded a sack in the first half. They needed to either get into more favorable situations at third (the sacks came in 3 & 5 and 3 & 10, in situations the defense didn’t think they were going to run) or help with some clash from a tight end, catcher or running back to give Rodgers more time out finish the comeback.

We already mentioned that the Packers were 14-10 down at the end of the first half, but that was after they didn’t reach the end zone despite having 1 & goal at the 6-yard line.
Rodgers missed two passes to Davante Adams, another was deflected down the line, but there was no pass to another player to look to take advantage of the extra attention Adams generated, or a carry. 0 yards for a team that scored TDs in 80% of its series within the opponent’s 20, the best ratio since 2000, according to FOX broadcast. It cost them, because Tampa went 2 of 2 on trips to the red zone.
And it happened to them again at the close of the game. Down 31-23, 1 & goal in the 8, two more incomplete to Adams, one to Lazard. Rodgers was even able to run in one and opted to throw passes between various defenders and set the table for the biggest mistake of all.
Do yall think Aaron Rodgers could have run this in???? pic.twitter.com/sA9bUATSUY

Where do we start? Being down 8, you need a touchdown to think about converting the tie. A field goal cuts to 5, so you need to stop and score a touchdown to win it, so it doesn’t help much. You don’t cut enough to be worth a field goal. The math failed with Matt LeFleur.
If you had a solid defense all year, which has dried up the opponent … maybe you think so, because indeed the Packers had four ways to stop the clock, between the two-minute break and their three timeouts. But Green Bay had not forced a punt since more than 2 minutes remained in the first half. Yes, they intercepted Brady three times, but at least two were passes that TB12 did not want to get hit and threw anywhere, not merits of great coverage.
And the worst: you have the QB who seems to be the MVP of the 2020 season, one of the best in history. Your best player, at least, and you don’t give him the ball when push comes to shove, relying on a defense that was worse than average for the year. What happened happened.
