Gabriel Soto’s “118 bullets”: the run of the attacks he survived before he was shot in Tijuana

Subsequently, narrates an attack that took place years ago in the city of Tijuana: “Third time is the charm, says a well-known saying, they caught me in Tijuana, with two horns they shot, there were 30 bullets, but not one hit me”, sings “El Tesoro” together with the Nueva Primicia group in the video of the song available on YouTube.

The corrido is inspired by the attacks that Gabriel Soto experienced in previous years. In the lyrics they even highlight the similarities with the fact that he lived last Saturday and that now keeps him in the hospital: “Goodbye, city of Tijuana, they are no longer going to look at me in my Ford 49 walking on the boulevard, there by the Sánchez Taboada, the rebo and cuca paz”.

The singer’s fans reacted to the recent fact with some comments: “And this would be the 4th time, Holy Christ”, “They just shot him about half an hour ago today, January 22” and “What happened to the Tesorín?” were some of the reactions that the singer’s followers had to the news.

On January 22, The “Treasure” was shot inside a business on the Mexican border, when he was inside a mechanical workshop. According to various reports, got into a truck when an armed person entered, who opened fire on him.

Immediately after, the attacker fled on the nearest road. After the attack, the authorities transferred Gabriel Soto to the nearest medical center, as he had been shot several times. The most serious, they reported, was one in his face, exactly in his jaw.

The corrido performer was frequent customer of the mechanical workshop. His last visit was given due to some failures in his ford pickup. Due to the recurrence of his attendance at the place, Gabriel Soto was intercepted.

Until now it is unknown if his attack was an action linked to his job of composing and interpreting corridos. Nor has it been distinguished whether a criminal card was awarded the act.

Meanwhile, local and federal authorities are already acting at the scene of the event. The premises were protected by the Tijuana Municipal Police, as well as by assets of the National Guard. The newspaper north point recovered that the State Attorney General’s Office located at the scene, at least, nine 9mm caliber shell casings.
