Raiders might not be done dealing after Davante Adams trade

March 29, 2022

Even after the Davante Adams trade, the Las Vegas Raiders are going to try to be active for the NFL Draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders made one of the biggest trades of the NFL offseason, and yes, we know there were a lot of them. At the expense of their first- and second-round picks in this year’s NFL Draft, they acquired star wide receiver Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers.

Even after trading both of their top picks in the NFL Draft, the Raiders are not ruling out moving back up the board. That comes from head coach Josh McDaniels himself, who said that they have had conversations at the NFL owners meetings.

Raiders talking potential trade back into top of NFL Draft

That would certainly be something if Las Vegas were able to gain a top pick in the NFL Draft despite trading their two highest picks for Adams. But, if this NFL offseason has proven anything, it is that anything is possible.

The Raiders have had an eventful offseason to compete in what is going to be a tough AFC West. They traded for Adams and gave him a five-year, $140 million contract. The Raiders also signed one of the top pass rushers in free agency, Chandler Jones, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals, to a three-year, $51 million contract. Las Vegas pulled off another trade, acquiring cornerback Rock Ya-Sin from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for Yannick Ngakoue.

Whether the Raiders pull off a trade to move back up the NFL Draft board or not, it sticks with the theme of how aggressive they have been at the start of the 2022 league year to build off of their playoff berth this past season.

The NFL Draft takes place from Apr. 28-30, live from Las Vegas.
